Ribbon for all cancer
Each Cancer?
Cancer disease is a nightmare for all of us. Do you know which
color of the cancer ribbons, which have become symbols and breast cancer
used to raise awareness about cancer and support patients,
represent which type of cancer?
How aware are you?
As Samsun E-Magazine, we wanted to include information uterine cancer
about the types of cancer and the colors of the ribbons that
symbolize cancer in this issue.
First, let's talk about the ribbon that represents all cancers: The
lavender ribbon represents all cancers. Let's look at other types
of cancer and the ribbons that represent these cancer types
separately. cervical cancer
Breast cancer is common in women, but it is also a type of cancer
found in men. The pink ribbon represents breast cancer. Since
many awareness raising studies have been carried out about
breast cancer, many people know the meaning of the pink ribbon.
colon cancer
Uterine cancer is a type of cancer that concerns women and for
which there is not enough awareness. This type of cancer is more
common in women at older ages. Uterine cancer seen at older
ages is represented by a "peach ribbon", and cervical cancer seen
at younger ages is represented by a "teal and white ribbon".
Another most well-known ribbon is the “dark blue ribbon”. This prostate cancer
ribbon represents colon cancer. Colon cancer is one of the most
common cancer types in our country. The “light blue ribbon”
symbolizes prostate cancer. One in every 9 men is at risk of
developing prostate cancer. It is important for men to get checked
by a specialist doctor regarding prostate cancer.
Many people lose their lives due to gastric (stomach) cancer, for gastric cancer
